On the ground in Pakistan

Local knowledge, global perspective.

China is already Pakistan's largest trading partner. The next phase needs people on the ground.

CPEC is moving from roads and power plants to factories, technology and joint ventures, and Pakistan's government is inviting Chinese companies to relocate industry into its special economic zones. Getting from interest to operation still depends on local approvals, partners and relationships, which is the work TechKnow is built to do.

Questions companies ask first

Do we need to register a company in Pakistan to work with you?

No. You can start with TechKnow as your local desk. If your plans later call for a registered presence, we coordinate the process with qualified legal partners.

What kinds of local presence can a foreign company have?

Generally three: a liaison office for representation and market research, a branch office to carry out contracts, or a locally incorporated subsidiary. Foreign-company registration usually involves Board of Investment permission followed by SECP registration. Requirements vary by sector and change over time, so we refer you to qualified lawyers to confirm the right structure.

Do you provide legal and tax advice?

TechKnow coordinates. Legal, tax and accounting advice comes from qualified local professionals in our partner network, and we manage the process so you deal with one contact.

How are your fees structured?

Flexible packages based on your company's needs: monthly service agreements, project-based contracts, or individually agreed fees.
